Making a redundancy claim

Employers who pay statutory redundancy and give notice (at least 2 weeks) are entitled to a rebate.To make a claim for the rebate an employer must submit an RP50 Form to the Department of Social Protection within 6 months of the date of termination of employment.

This claim can be made online visit: Online Redundancy Claim Form or by filling out a hard copy of the RP50 Form which can be obtained by texting FORM REDUNDANCY followed by the person's name and address to 51909 (standard rates apply).

The claims that come in online receive priority and will be paid sooner than manual forms.

Please note: In the Budget 2012 it was announced that the employer rebate on statutory redundancy is reduced from 60% to 15%. The applies to rebates on payments to employees made redundant on or after 1st January 2012.
